Feature

The v1 API is for developers who want to run extraction from their own code — an application, a script, or a back-office pipeline — instead of starting each job from this website. It is a different interface from the Google Sheets Add-on, which serves the spreadsheet case. This page covers who can use the API and where its documentation lives; the API reference itself is elsewhere.

Who the API is for

Use the API when the extracted data needs to land in your own system rather than in a spreadsheet or a downloaded file. It lets a program submit documents, start processing, and collect the results without a person driving the web app for each batch. If you only need extracted rows in a sheet you already work in, the Sheets Add-on is the simpler route.

What you need before you start

The API is available on any paid plan, and not on the Free plan. A Free account is refused: calls come back with a message that a paid plan is required, even with a valid key. The plans that qualify are:

  • Basic, Pro, or Max — the personal paid plans.
  • Growth, Scale, or Enterprise — the team plans. A team member is covered by the team owner's plan, so a member of a paid team has API access through it.

Access is checked on every call, and a key that does not belong to an active account is rejected.

The key itself is a credential on your account, created and replaced from your profile page. See API Key management for where to find it and how to regenerate it. You do not need a separate key for the API — the same key also connects the Google Sheets Add-on.

Where the full documentation lives

Everything beyond access lives on the developer documentation site, not here. It covers the request and response formats, the endpoints, the parameters each one accepts, and worked examples. Start with:

This page deliberately does not repeat any of that material.
